Wireless is "in". In modern building automation radio technology increasingly wins against wired signal transmission. gesis^® RC from Wieland Electric offers a complete radio-controlled system on the basis of the EnOcean technology without batteries.

The benefits are clear: As the energy required for sending radio telegrams is generated directly in the switch, batteries are not required. The switches as well as all other sensors are therefore absolutely maintenance-free. Transmission of information via radio makes cables unnecessary. This reduces the planning effort considerably and minimizes the installation volume. The system is put into operation without any software and can therefore be learned within a few minutes.

Appropriate gateways are available for linking the radio sensors such as switches to the building automation systems KNX and LON.

When actuators are installed in silent zones, antennas are installed at a distance where proper reception is guaranteed even under difficult environmental conditions. The switching outputs are equipped with gesis^® CON. Installation is therefore still quick and flexible, even for components such as luminaires and sunblinds, and fits with all other gesis^® products.

Building automation using KNX (formerly called EIB) has long been established as the worldwide standard for controlling functions such as heating, lighting, sunblinds, ventilation or safety technology. Products of various manufacturers cooperate under the same roof without a problem.

The product series range from system devices and sensors to actuators for room automation that are installed remotely for the most part. An efficient use of energy is becoming increasingly important and is realized with presence detectors, motion sensors as well as room temperature controllers. In order to achieve a clear and future-proof infrastructure for the electrical installation, implementing a remote and pluggable installation system is recommendable.

Three device series with inputs and outputs are available particularly for this purpose.
gesis^® EIB M2 is a modular, directly pluggable system;
the gesis^® EIB V series is characterized by an extremely flat design with a height of only 32 mm.
gesis^® RM has been designed especially for use with the
gesis^® RAN distribution box; due to its modular design it enables a variety of functions for individual room automation and is a surprisingly low-cost solution.

LONWorks (Local Operating Network) is an internationally standardized remote network for automation in buildings that serves all trades and can be used universally. Intelligent sensors, actuators and operating devices can be interconnected flexibly using different transmission media. The devices communicate as desired from each point to every other point. Modifications and enhancements of the software, e.g. adding or removing central commands, can be performed easily in the network during operation.

The modular device series gesis^® RM as well as the gateway to the EnOcean radio technology for use in LON networks enable highly flexible, high-performance and remote installations. The modules are combined as required by the customer and installed in the gesis^® RAN distribution box. As most components are pre-assembled, they can be installed quickly at the construction side, while the error rate is reduced to a minimum.

Modifications, extensions and maintenance are possible any time and also during operation via the network.
