Starting in planning and production of our products we focus on saving resources and on extensive environmental combatibility. Improved methods help us to utilize many raw materials almost completely and to recycle waste materials. For example, 99% of the raw materials required in plastics manufacturing and non-ferrous metal processing are utilized. Furthermore we put great effort into substituting hazardous substances. Even extensive investments, such as in our fully automated electroplating shop that works according to state-of-the-art eco standards, show how we understand "green contacts".

The green principle dominates not only in production, but also in installation and usage of our products. Products, like the pluggable installation system gesis^® or the podis^® power bus that works with piercing technology, save installation space, can be installed without producing waste and can also be re-used completely after modifications.

Wieland's environmental management system was successfully re-certified in 2006 as well. Furthermore, successful fulfillment of the requirements in accordance with DIN ISO 14001 and EC's strict environmental audit directive EMAS was confirmed. Thus, company processes are optimized regarding environmental aspects to become even more efficient.
